This Seller Policy outlines the requirements, expectations, and guidelines for sellers using the Rail Depot Direct marketplace. By listing products on our platform, sellers agree to comply with these terms.

2. Seller Onboarding and Account Management
2.1 Account Creation
a. Sellers must provide accurate and complete business information
b. All seller accounts are subject to verification and approval
c. Sellers are responsible for maintaining account security
2.2 Account Obligations
a. Keep login credentials confidential b. Immediately report any unauthorised account access c. Maintain up-to-date business and contact information
3. Product Listings
3.1 Listing Requirements
a. Provide accurate and detailed product descriptions of new and unused products only
b. Include clear, high-quality product images
c. Specify:
- Accurate pricing
- Listing price includes GST
3.2 Inventory Management
a. Maintain accurate stock levels
b. Immediately update product availability
c. Avoid listing products out of stock
3.3 Pricing
a. Prices must be competitive and clearly displayed
b. Include GST in listed prices
c. Avoid misleading pricing practices
3.4 Commission Rates
Rail Depot Direct charges the following commission rates:

Example:
- For a $5,000 transaction, the commission would be $500 (10% of $5,000)
- For a $10,000 transaction, the commission would be:
- $600 (10% of $6,000)
- $80 (2% of $4,000 over $6,000)
- Total commission: $680
Commission is calculated based on the total sale value and will be deducted from the seller's payment.
4. Shipping and Delivery
4.1 Seller Responsibilities
a. Prepare products for collection by Shipping Partner
b. Ensure products are packaged securely
c. Provide accurate product details for shipping
4.2 Delivery Process
a. Rail Depot Direct will manage shipping logistics
b. Sellers must be available for product collection
c. Provide accurate pickup address and contact information
5. Customer Service
5.1 Communication Standards
a. Respond to buyer inquiries within 24-48 hours
b. Maintain professional and helpful communication
c. Provide clear and timely updates on orders
5.2 Returns and Refunds
a. Comply with Australian Consumer Law
b. Process refunds within 7 business days
c. Accept returns for:
- Faulty items
- Incorrect items
6. Privacy and Data Protection
6.1 Customer Data
a. Use customer data only for order fulfilment
b. Do not store or use customer information for marketing
c. Protect customer privacy in line with Australian privacy laws
6.2 Confidentiality
a. Treat all customer information as confidential
b. Do not share customer details with third parties

7. Prohibited Practices
7.1 Seller Conduct
Sellers are prohibited from: a. Misrepresenting products
b. Engaging in fraudulent activities
c. Violating Australian consumer laws
d. Attempting to conduct transactions outside the platform
e. Harassing or misleading customers
8. Dispute Resolution
8.1 Dispute Handling
a. Cooperate fully in resolving customer disputes
b. Respond to dispute notifications within 3 business days
c. Provide evidence and documentation as required
8.2 Escalation
a. Unresolved disputes may be decided in the customer's favour
b. Rail Depot Direct reserves the right to mediate and resolve disputes
9. Account Closure
9.1 Voluntary Closure
a. Provide notice to Rail Depot Direct
b. Resolve all outstanding orders
c. Remove active listings
9.2 Involuntary Termination
Rail Depot Direct may terminate a seller account for:
a. Repeated policy violations
b. Poor performance
c. Fraudulent activities
d. Breach of terms and conditions
10. Miscellaneous
10.1 Policy Updates
a. Rail Depot Direct may update this policy
b. Sellers will be notified of significant changes
c. Continued use of the platform indicates acceptance of updates
10.2 Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
