Detect insulation faults and earth leakage in unearthed DC rail networks before they become a safety or operational problem. The Comat ESU-D2R is a railway-approved insulation resistance monitoring relay that continuously monitors earthing resistance against both the positive and negative poles of the network.

Two-stage alarm outputs — pre-alarm and main alarm — allow maintenance teams to respond to developing faults before a critical threshold is reached. An adjustable alarm delay reduces nuisance tripping, and an analogue output terminal enables external display of measured earthing resistance in real time. Approved to EN 50155 and EN 61373 for rolling stock environments.
